Considering a Home Visit But Not Sure What to Expect?

If you've never had a physiotherapist come to your home before, it's completely normal to have questions. Here's exactly what happens, from getting in touch to your first appointment.

Getting in Touch

Because home visit pricing depends on your location and the complexity of your care needs, we don't list a fixed price online. Instead, get in touch through our contact form, phone, WhatsApp or email, and we'll ask a few quick questions — your general area, what you need help with, and any mobility or access considerations — so we can confirm coverage and give you a clear price before booking anything.

What to Have Ready

You don't need to do much to prepare, but it helps to have:

  • A clear space to work in — a bit of room to move, whether that's a sitting room, bedroom or hallway
  • Any relevant medical information — referral letters, scan results (X-ray, MRI), or a summary of your condition, if you have them
  • A think-through of your symptoms — when they started, what makes them better or worse, and what you're hoping to achieve

  • There's no need for special equipment — your physiotherapist brings what's needed for the assessment and treatment.

    What Happens During the Visit

Your first home visit typically includes:

  • A full assessment — your physiotherapist will ask about your condition, medical history and goals, then carry out a physical assessment relevant to your issue
  • Treatment on the day — where appropriate, treatment begins during the same visit, whether that's manual therapy, exercise guidance, or advice on managing your condition day-to-day
  • A plan going forward — you'll be told what to expect, how many sessions are likely to help, and what you can do between visits

  • Initial home visit assessments generally take a little longer than follow-up sessions, since there's more information to gather.

    Who Home Visits Are For

    Home visit physiotherapy particularly suits:

  • People with limited mobility who find it difficult to travel to a clinic
  • Patients recovering after hospital discharge or surgery
  • Older adults, including those in nursing homes or day care centres
  • Anyone who simply prefers the privacy and convenience of treatment at home
