About Dimple

Dimple trained in India, completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2018 and a Master of Physiotherapy in 2021, with a community physiotherapy focus and research on independence in older people. She then worked in a multispeciality hospital, caring for inpatients on the wards and in intensive care, and in private practice, treating neurological, orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and older-adult conditions. Since moving to Ireland she has worked with older people in a nursing home in Swords, at our Swords clinic, and on home visits.

She is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is registered with CORU.

Home Visit Physiotherapy

Dimple visits people at home who find it hard to travel to a clinic, including after surgery, a fall or a hospital stay. At the first visit she assesses the problem, uses recognised outcome measures to record where you are starting from, and agrees a plan with you and, if you wish, your family or carers. She teaches the exercises and checks progress at later visits so the plan can change as you do.

Nursing Homes and Day-Care Centres

Dimple has worked as a physiotherapist in a nursing home, with residents in long-term, convalescent and respite care. Her work includes:

• Falls risk assessment and mobility assessment, using tools such as the Timed Up and Go, the 30-second chair stand and the Berg Balance Scale
• Falls prevention programmes, including the Otago exercise programme, planned with nursing staff, occupational therapists and carers
• Rehabilitation after a hip fracture, and after a hip or knee replacement
• Pain management using exercise, manual therapy and heat or cold where suitable
• Advice on safe moving and handling, and on the bedroom and surrounding environment

Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological rehab is one of Dimple's core areas, built on her hospital experience treating patients recovering from stroke, nerve injury and other neurological conditions affecting movement and function. Her approach focuses on rebuilding function step by step, working within what's realistic for each patient's stage of recovery.

Dry Needling and Manual Therapy

Dimple has additional training in dry needling, therapeutic taping and myofascial release therapy, alongside core manual therapy skills. She combines these hands-on techniques with strength training, kinesiology taping and electrotherapy where appropriate, tailoring the mix to what each injury actually needs rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

Geriatric and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation

Alongside neurological work, Dimple focuses on geriatric rehabilitation and general musculoskeletal issues - joint pain, muscle strains and the mobility problems that come with ageing. She keeps up to date through continuing professional development set by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and CORU.
